AAA is pioneering the field of Personalized Medicine which involves tailored treatments based on each patient’s profile and disease. In a step towards proactive disease management, Molecular Medicine will provide predictive, preventive and personalized tools and procedures that will radically transform healthcare for all parties involved.
AAA is a leading player in the field of Molecular Medicine, focusing both on R&D and production of Molecular Imaging and Molecular Therapy products. A key modality in the field of Molecular Imaging is PET (Positron Emission Tomography), which provides non-invasive, visual and quantitative representations of fundamental biological processes in living subjects, a necessary path for improving patient care. Nanograms of AAA molecular probes not only are enough to create metabolic images through PET, but can also be used for effective treatment of cancer diseases through Molecular Therapy.
AAA is currently involved in 29 research projects with 94 external partner organizations, either from private (48%) or public sector (52%), in the following domains:
- Production of PET tracers for pre-clinical and clinical research
- Development of a new brachytherapy technique for solid cancers
- Production of new radiopharmaceuticals for Radiometabolic Therapy
- PET Molecular imaging applied for drug discovery (for both pre-clinical and clinical research)
